Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
Your privacy matters to us.
This Privacy Policy explains how CopyMe collects, uses, stores, and shares your information when you use the Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account registration details (email address, phone number, country)
- Your Bybit User ID (UID) and API credentials (see Section 3 below)
- Communications with our support team
- Information you submit if you apply to become a master trader (name, Telegram handle, trading history)
Identity verification (KYC) information — collected only if you upgrade, earn through our affiliate program, or use the in-app wallet:
- Full legal name and date of birth
- Residential address
- Government-issued identification document (such as passport, national ID, or driver's license)
- A live photo or short video to confirm identity (liveness check)
- Any additional information required by applicable financial regulations
KYC information is only collected when you take an action that requires it — see Section 4 below. You can continue to use CopyMe at the free tier without submitting KYC information.
Information collected automatically:
- Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers)
- Log data (IP address, access times, pages viewed, crashes)
- Usage data (features used, settings chosen, copying activity)
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- Verify your identity and your Bybit referral status
- Replicate trades from master traders to your Bybit account via the API connection you authorize
- Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support requests
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Exchange API credentials
When you connect your Bybit account, we store your API key and API secret in encrypted form (AES-256 at rest). API credentials are used only to (a) verify your UID, (b) read account state, and (c) place and manage trades on your instruction. API credentials never include withdrawal permission and we do not store, request, or accept keys with withdrawal access.
You can revoke API access at any time by deleting the key on Bybit or disconnecting the exchange inside the CopyMe app.
4. Identity verification (KYC)
To comply with financial regulations and to protect the Service from fraud, CopyMe requires identity verification (KYC) for certain activities. KYC is not required to use the free tier of CopyMe. You will only be asked to complete KYC if you:
- Upgrade to a paid risk-level subscription
- Participate in the CopyMe affiliate program and receive commission payouts
- Deposit, withdraw, or otherwise use the in-app wallet
What we collect: The information listed in Section 1 under "Identity verification (KYC) information." We collect only what is required for verification and regulatory compliance. We do not collect financial account information beyond what is needed to process the payment or payout you have initiated.
How the verification works: The KYC process is powered by a third-party identity verification provider acting on our instruction. You will complete the verification inside the CopyMe app. The provider processes your information solely to confirm your identity and report the result back to us. They do not use your information for their own marketing or other purposes.
How we store it: KYC information is stored encrypted at rest and access is restricted to authorized CopyMe staff with a legitimate business reason (for example, responding to a regulatory request or resolving a support issue you have raised).
How long we keep it: We retain KYC information for as long as your account is active and for any additional period required by applicable financial and anti-money-laundering regulations.
Your rights: You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of KYC data by contacting support@copyme.trade. Note that we may be legally required to retain certain KYC records even after you close your account.
5. Information we share
We do not sell personal information.
We share information only with:
- Trusted service providers (cloud hosting, analytics, payment processing) who operate on our behalf under confidentiality obligations
- Bybit, via API — limited to the operations required to execute the Service
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@copyme.trade. Certain data may be retained after deletion to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures — including encryption, access controls, and monitoring — to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to improve our protections. In the event of a material security incident affecting your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to remember preferences, measure performance, and improve the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not function correctly if cookies are disabled.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.
10. International users
The Service is operated from Nigeria. If you use the Service from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in Nigeria and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Users in the EU/EEA have specific rights under GDPR — see Section 12.
11. Your choices
You may:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting support@copyme.trade
- Disconnect your Bybit account at any time from within the app
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any email
12. GDPR / EU users
If you are in the EU or EEA, you have specific rights under GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@copyme.trade.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to you via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
